Research Interests

Zoltan Ferencz, PhD (m) is an economist and political scientist, received his PhD in Sociology at Eötvös Lóránd University (Budapest), Faculty of Social Sciences in 2012 (Thesis: Risk perception strategies in natural catastrophes). He is working as a part-time research fellow in the Centre for Social Sciences at the Institute of Sociology. His main research topics are: risk, environmental sociology (floods, radioactive waste, food safety, sustainability; etc.); nuclear and fusion energy; energy poverty. He was involved in several researches concerning the natural disasters, the risk perception and the adaptation strategies in Europe and in Hungary (Cowam, Prosuite; SafeFood; InSotec). He took part in empirical researches concerning ecological crises, global warming and resilience, energy problems and the Covid-19 pandemic.
